The ABB 691HT (or Model 691HT) is a handheld device designed for configuring, calibrating, and troubleshooting smart HART electronic transmitters in industrial process control applications.
· Function: It provides a smart interface to interact with HART compatible field devices, allowing engineers to monitor diagnostics, set parameters (like zero and span), and perform loop tests.
· Features: The device has a 4-line by 20-character LCD display, a 25-key keyboard, and can store up to 32 transmitter configurations in its non-volatile memory.
· Connectivity: It uses standard Bell 202 FSK (Frequency Shift Keying) current modulation superimposed on the 4 to 20 mA analog signal for communication with transmitters and an RS-232 serial link for connection to a PC.
· Safety: An intrinsically safe version is available for use in hazardous locations, powered by an internal rechargeable Ni-Cd battery pack or disposable AA batteries in general-purpose areas.
